Page Size

With today's high Internet connection rates, many webmaster no longer think that they should bother about their website page size and load time. But, this parameter remains essential for SEO. Let say, if the page is not finished its load in less than 30 seconds, many potential visitor will leaving our page. This cases is also applies to search engine, if your page size is big enough and make search engine crawler have to wait long enough to read all your page completely, then this crawler will leaving your page with less information about your page, and they will not coming back very often. Some articles i have read in the internet says we must keep our page size lower than 150K, but some others says 100K. It seems there is no standard how big is our page size is allowed to have a good SEO score.

How to know how big is our page size? By searching on Google, let's take example our greatest Busby SEO Challenge, you can get some informations regarding to your page size which indexed by Google.

From the top 5 position, we can get the list below:

From the search result above, we can see there's various size of website which page being indexed by Google. 39, 29, 16, 17, 16 kilo Bytes. Does this amount have an effect on its SEO score? We can not make any conclusion based on the list above, because there are many factors playing a role behind those sites. Anyone can answer this? Smaller size is better, or there's just a threshold of maximum size?
